The site is live. Instead of writing the usual launch announcement, I would rather put down the standard I am holding every build to — including this one — so there is something to hold me to later.
The Standard
A site I build has to do four things before I will put my name on it. It has to load fast on a phone on a bad connection, because that is how most people in Shasta County will actually see it. It has to be legible to Google without anyone paying extra for "SEO" as an add-on later. It has to say what the business does in the first screen, without marketing fog. And it has to give someone an obvious way to get in touch.
None of that is exotic. It is just the part that gets skipped when a site is priced to be cheap.
Why Custom, Not Template
A template is someone else's structure with your logo dropped into it. It ships fast, and for a while it looks fine. The problem shows up underneath: you inherit their page structure, their bloat, and their idea of what matters — and you inherit it identically to every other business that bought the same theme.
When the code is written for one business, the structure can follow what that business actually needs to rank for and actually needs to say. That is harder to do and it is worth it, because it is the difference between a site that looks done and a site that works.
What's Next
More pages, and more proof. I would rather show real work than describe it, so as projects land I will write up what was actually done and what actually happened — including the parts that took longer than they should have.
If you run a business in Redding or anywhere in Northern California and your site is not pulling its weight, get in touch. One conversation is usually enough to tell whether I can help.
